Part 2 of Microsoft's Remember Reach Live Action series was just released, and boy does it ramp up the intensity. Part 1 teased us with some talking, but part 2 shows us exactly why these shorts are a part of one of the most expensive videogame marketing campaigns ever.
Part 2, titled "Deliver Hope", cuts out the talking and replaces it with Spartans, guns, explosions, massive ships, and plenty of pew pew to keep you satisfied. Thom didn't die from the explosion. He went after a group of enemies instead of waiting for back up.
Both Catherine-B320 and Carter-A259 took responsibility for Thom's death, unable to admit that his death was his own fault. The team's superior, Colonel Urban Holland, asserted that Thom died because he chose to go solo and attack Covenant forces on his own instead of waiting for backup.[1] Thom was replaced in Noble Team by SPARTAN-B312, another SPARTAN-III.

Confirmed Is that Thom died on this mission and that Kat looses her arm on the same mission (Although not Specified how).
