The upcoming issue of GameInformer is going to feature a huge blowout special on Halo Reach, revealing all kinds of new details. But, being the kind folks that we are, we know you just can't wait to get your mits on new Halo Reach info. Here are the magazine scans of the article so you can see it yourself.
Also, here are some of the more prominent reveals:
- Players control a Spartan named Noble 6, part of the Noble Team. The big first for the Halo series will be an entire team of Spartans fighting the alien Covenant at the same time.
- This is a prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, and so Bungie wants the Covenant to feel dangerous again, like they did in the first game. They no longer speak in English, there’s a new enemy type called Skirmishers, who attack in packs, and the Elites are back as foes.
- Health packs are back, combined with regenerating health as in the original game.
- More stuff happening at once: Bungie says it can now cram 40 enemies and 20 vehicles in an area at once.
- New weapons: The Designated Marksman Rifle sits somewhere between sniper and battle rifle and the Needle Rifle acts like a Needler but with more accuracy and flexibility.
- Sniper rifle, assault rifle and magnum pistol return, as do frag and sticky grenades. Spike and flame grenades are out.

In a bit of an odd approach to things, while we still don't know much of anything about the actual Halo Reach game itself as far as gameplay is concerned, we now know the release date. Well, at least in the UK we do.
While Bungie has not confirmed it publicly, a slew of UK retailers simultaneously put up a release date of September 24th, 2010. This falls in line with late September releases of both Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.
We know September is a long ways away, in the meantime feel free to discuss your thoughts on the game over in our forum.
So, how are you going to pass the time until September? Other than by playing the Halo Reach Beta, of course...
We all knew that the Halo Reach Beta would be coming sometime in 2010. Well, Bungie has narrowed that date down a bit more to "Spring 2010". It's not a lot to go on, but at least we're getting closer to finding out.
For those wondering, Spring technically lasts from Spring: March 21st through June 21st, so it could be anywhere in that date range.
Did you enjoy the new Halo Reach trailer that premiered at the VGAs? Did you think the music in it was badass? Well, good news. Bungie and the legendary Mary O'Donnell have made the soundtrack from the trailer available for download, for FREE!.
You can get it here.
It premiered tonight on Spike TV's 2009 VGA Awards, and now we have it for you. The very first, world premiere footage of Halo Reach. We won't make you wait any longer, go ahead and click "Read More" to see the video! Then head on over to the forums to discuss it!
Geoff Keighley, the valiant Spike TV game defender himself, has recently tweeted that the world premiere of Halo Reach footage will be shown during Spike TV's Video Game Awards show on December 12th.
So will we finally get some gameplay footage, or just a live action trailer? Either way, we know two things for certain. Firstly, it's going to rock, and secondly, we'll have the video up here on the site, in glorious HD, as soon as it airs.
So, what are you expecting to see?
Are they real? That's the question everyone is wondering, now that MLG Forum user has allegedly gotten his hands on some (very fuzzy) Halo Reach Beta screenshots as well as some info about the game. Why can screenshot leakers never hold a camera still when snapping a photo?

With the release of ODST today, Halo is on all of our minds, if not in our game tray. What are your thoughts on the game? Does the beta menu tell us anything about the forthcoming Halo Reach beta?

We've all been wondering what Halo Reach will be like. We can be fairly certain it will be a first person shooter, and a major game release with competitive multiplayer. But beyond that, we're pretty much in the dark. Will it be based on the same engine as Halo 3? Will it be squad based or arcadey?
Well, come this fall/winter, we may finally have our answer as Gamerzine reports, Halo Reach game footage will be displayed at this year's Tokyo Game Show. We'll have the footage up here as soon as it drops.
